“Come on, darling. I can tell that you want to. Those shorts you are wearing don’t hide much.” I guess she was right they were actually a baggy swimsuit that I had found in the supply store and the inner parts were rather loose for me.

She took my hand and led me up the wooden stairs into the main bedroom where we remade the bed by which time Candy was naked again.

“Come on lover! Let’s see what you can do.” She said as she dived into the bed.

I was not long in following her.

We made love five times that night and slept heavily in between each bout.

I was awakened by the sound of my cell phone burring in my discarded tuxedo.

Candy did not stir so I took the cell phone downstairs.

“Freddie, it worked like a charm. The girls are home and a million bucks was definitely dropped off at the airport where half the crooks in town are watching it, giving the local police the quietest day since Easter Sunday.”

I was overcome by a feeling of depression whereas I should have felt elation at Jadi’s release.

I pondered this strange situation before I realized what the problem was. Candace was not a bad person. She did not deserve what I was going to do to her emotions.

We had just enjoyed two nights and a day that had closely resembled a honeymoon. Now, I was going to take her home and she was not going to hear from me again because I was going back to Jadi, my true love.

I didn’t see that I had any choice. I had to get Jadi and Desdemona back from their abductors but what I was doing to Candy was unforgivable. I really liked the girl and I was going to be an absolute rat to her.

I tried to rationalize that it was really Tito’s fault. At the core of it that was true but still the way I had used Candace was ugly. I knew what it meant to be a heel.

I climbed the stairs slowly wondering if there was any way I could soften the blow for her but there really wasn’t one.

She was lying on the bed with the sheets thrown back exposing the full length of her beautiful body. I kept telling myself that Jadi’s body was even better but my eyes could not look away.

I took a hanger from the closet and hung my tuxedo on it before taking it down to the car. When I returned Candy was still lying stretched out on the bed but her eyes opened as I came into the room.

“Hi darling,” she murmured. “Come back to bed.”

“Bad news, Candy, I have to get back to the Governor’s residence. There is no way I can put it off.”

“Ah,” she said sitting up and causing my concentration to waver.”What a pity! This has been the most wonderful time of my life.”

“Could you get dressed? We can talk in the car on the way home.”

She pulled on the sunsuit and sandals.
